Be Werry, Werry, Kwiet...we're hunting wabbits

In between regular work, gathering data for Pheasants Forever, recycling, feeding the baby, etc....me, Davey, and RePhil took some time off to hunt rabbits.

It was a cool 40 degrees F with sprinkles (at first) coming down.  We marched Marshall's N property along the bottoms.  We pushed one out the end and fired SIX shots at him.  We got him though, and he weren't ruined - because 5 of the 6 shots MISSED.  We're freaking awesome shots!

We left there, drank a beer, took a photo, and then headed to Marshall's south farm.

Note the chins tilted upward?  That's so they appear taller.
They appear like Losers to me, especially RePhil with his Mexican Shirt.

We parked at the S and sat out the rain.  We then walked the creek N.  And we saw ZERO.  As we made the turn, I just about stepped on one and it took off running back S.  It went under a log, so I had no shot.  RePhil saw it as it crossed his path - he fired and missed.  I then ran right up Davey's pant leg.  He said you have no idea how hard it is to hit a rabbit that close to you.  Yep, he missed.

We walked back S and kicked three more - of which we hit one.  Saw 5, killed 2.  Probably burned more calories chasing rabbits than what we shot.  For sure it took more shots than it should have.  And now it's REALLY RAINING.  We are soaked.  Headed to the corner for lunch.

RePhil claims that it was the hot tea, coffee, and beers that made him piss like 40 times today.  Ok.  Whatever.  Me and Davey can hold our beer.  Couldn't resist taking the ubiquitous RePhil peeing shot.  Enjoy.

Davey snuck up to give him a little love.

So I had Davey thaw out his one rabbit from last year and I thawed out mine.  I cleaned and salted the two we got today and then I pressure cooked them all in Sprite (TM) for 80 minutes.  I then put them in a pot of stew.  They smell awesome.  That's lunch tomorrow after church.  Looking forward to that!
