Spring Kit Installation for T/C Encore
So Krueger is doing some snooping around on the internet trying to figure out what barrel to put on his Thompson / Center (T / C) Encore muzzle loader. The problem is that the trigger is not the best for precision shooting. That leads to an investigation on what to do to improve the trigger function on the T / C Encore so that he could get excellent groups.
Turns out that Mike Bellm's T/Cs provides multiple spring kits (at different poundages) for $20. This turns out to be a Great Deal for 5 springs that will definitely improve your trigger function! You can go to Mike's website to buy direct here: https://www.bellmtcs.com/
Go to Store Categories -> Shop and pick the right spring kit for your gun and your preferred poundage.
We order the Encore 2.5# spring kits and await their arrival. Kruger comes over and we tear our guns apart - carefully.
Thanks to the wonderful research tool that is YouTube, we utilized the following video to help us take them apart and install the new kit.

I wish I could give this guy credit, but I could not find his name anywhere. So whoever you are, thank you very much. This video covers 98% of everything you need to tear down your T/C Encore, remove the old springs, install the new ones, and reassembly your gun.
Our only issue arrived when we tried to put the trigger spring back in. The orientation is well presented, but the actual location of the back pin is VERY difficult to see in the video. We guessed the first time and were wrong. Locked up the whole gun. We pulled it back apart and saw that we were making it too difficult on ourselves - the spring just drops into place. No reason to "put" the back pin anywhere.
Trust me on this bit - grab a good buddy and have some help, especially with the trigger spring. The guy in the video does it by himself, but it is way easier with four hands. Watching the video, pausing it as we went, and moving step-by-step, we completed this installation the first time in 1 hour.
After we got my gun complete, we tackled Krueger's gun. Since we had the knowledge and did not have to watch the video as we went, we installed his spring kit in 15 minutes. Of course we only had to install his trigger spring once. That saved some time.
Overall, this is the best $20 I have spent in a long time. We are guessing as we do not have trigger gauges, but my T/C was between 5 - 6# before this installation. Afterwards, it is 1.5 - 2#. This. Kit. Works!
Krueger's gun was a bit different, starting somewhere higher and ending just north of #2. A lot of what you get depends upon your gun and how it was made and when. You start with good and you get better after installing this kit.
If you are looking to improve your T/C's trigger, then this kit is a must! Done.
